About TM CARNIVAL COUTURE
Who We Are
T & M Carnival Couture is your premiere Carnival boutique experience and stands to be the “go to” provider of International Carnival costumes to the entire Haitian diaspora and beyond.
T&M Carnival Couture is the love child of Taisha Alexandre and Marie Maximilien, both creatives who joined together in order to spearhead this endeavor. The idea for T&M Carnival Couture was birthed when creativity coupled with necessity afforded an opportunity to answer a call. From its inception, T&M Carnival Couture sought to meet a need, the need being to accommodate Haitian bands so they could continue to participate in New York’s Labor Day Parade. In 2023 changes in guidelines set forth by New York’s West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) stipulated that all bands and artists desiring to join the parade route were required to have costumed masqueraders following their truck. Realizing that this new guideline would further alienate and disenfranchise most Haitian artists who typically did not have costumed revelers and are not part of a Mass Camp, the idea for T&M Carnival Couture was born! Taisha having had experience creating Carnival costumes and accessories in the past, met up with Marie whose vision was to create an opportunity to embrace our rich Caribbean carnival culture while invoking the many leaders and legends of our past who rose up to meet challenges head on! The dynamic duo went to work and with the help of designer Vicky Lefranc, created tantalizing designs and costumes fit for the road. This year’s theme is “Rouge et Bleu” (Red and Blue), the colors of the Haitian Flag representing the strength and resilience of the Haitian people.T&M Carnival Couture is dedicated to providing quality Carnival products with premium service. We aim to provide avant-garde designs and costume production to all bands for all Carnival markets stateside and abroad. Look to us to provide all your carnival costumes as the leaders of Haitian Carnival couture for the NY Labor Day Parade and the Miami Carnival in 2024. As for years to come, we are coming to a Carnival near you! We have always participated and now we will be showcased!
